Idris

Idris , a photo by Nor Salman on Flickr. This would be 3rd time re-starting my project 365. Lets see how far can I bring this through. The first picture of my journey is of Idris. Film, Camera or something else.

Been quite a while. It has been some time since I have embarked on my analog photography journey. I figure a bit of an update to this blog is long overdue. Shooting in analog, for it to be a rewarding and a successful endeavor requires many components. In today's blog, I would like bring forth, a component, which although I am not an expert in, is very necessary for this journey to continue. With this, I mean, film. Yes, film, the part of the system that serves primarily to capture the image you see, and after it has been processed, will produced the negatives from where your images resides. The other components, would of course, be the camera and the parts that make up the camera system, like the lenses and you! Your understanding of how proper exposure is made, how much light is exposed to the film inside the camera, generally would greatly influence how good or not good, your image will be. The Nikon F3

Yup, my current fav, my most reliable, most comfortable to date. I would really love the Olympus OM 2 SP or the Pentax MX to be the camera of choice. But I have yet to determine their dependability. The F3 is a tank, if compared to the petite MX or the sexy OM 2SP. I am loving the OM 2SP lots and I am contemplating of getting the all mechanical OM1. And while the MX is all mechanical, the F3 is electronic. Starfishes.. F3, nikkor 55mm 2,8 and shenguang 400. Does the difference between electronic and mechanical bothers me? Not a bit. I mentioned it because people do say that mechanical cameras are easy to service. I sincerely hoped I do not reached that stage where I have to send the camera for service. Pentax MX, Pentax A 50mm f2 . What concerns me, is that the camera is reliable. The F3, my F3, is that, its reliable and dependable. Its also comfortable. I find that I can shoot of a frame and then wind the film and charge the shutter without taking my eyes off the viewfinde...
