Pentax K1000, its fun!

Pentax K1000.

Before I continue, I realised that there are several versions of this camera. There are some that are made in China, while the OG is made in Japan. Even those made in the land of the rising sun, has several versions. What I know is, mine is a Pentax K1000. Does not really matter to which version it is, or which country its made from. I have been looking to get my hands on this camera for a long time. To think I got this, with a 50mm F2 Pentax lens, all for SGD$100, is insane.

My very own.

At first, I was petrified. Knowing, from experience, old vintage cameras would come with certain problems, such as unserviceable meter, poor shutter performances, or even, not working at all, I was very relieved when the first roll came back from the lab.

The meter works!

The handling of this camera was superb. Buttons were laid out nicely, All those that were supposed to move or rotate or pushed, did so without any squeaks or resistance. The thing is, after just one roll, the camera is, just is!

I paired the body with Pentax K 50mm 1,2. Saving the 50mm f2, when I need something more compact. The bigger dimensions of the 50mm 1.2 matches well with the bigger size of the camera. The Pentax Mx would definitely look a bit more odd with the lens.

Pictures of the camera and lens were taken with the Sony A7M2 and the Micro-Nikkor 55mm 2.8

Enoy the rest of the picture samples, taken using film I bought from Taobao, called Mu 400.
